Planning a visit to Cinque Terre? With its breathtaking landscapes, colorful villages, and stunning coastal views, this picturesque Italian paradise is a dream destination. While you’re here, why not capture your memories with a photoshoot in Cinque Terre? Whether you’re exploring the area for a romantic getaway, a proposal, or simply to soak in its beauty, a professional photoshoot will ensure you have timeless images to cherish forever.
If you’re planning a photoshoot in Cinque Terre, I’d love to help you capture its beauty. Having lived in this magical region for over 10 years, I’ve spent countless hours photographing its colorful villages, breathtaking landscapes, and timeless charm. Whether it’s your first visit to Cinque Terre or you’re returning to experience it again, I’d love to create something special for you.
Your photoshoot in Cinque Terre includes the choice between Manarola or Riomaggiore, two of the most picturesque and iconic villages.
Manarola (the primary location for photoshoots) offers a variety of stunning backgrounds, from its vineyard-covered hills to charming side streets. The town’s most famous view, overlooking pastel-colored buildings cascading down towards the sea, is truly spectacular and makes for an unforgettable backdrop.
Riomaggiore is known for its dramatic coastline and vibrant, colorful waterfront. The steep streets and rustic charm of the village create a striking atmosphere, while the view of the bright, multicolored buildings lining the harbor is absolutely breathtaking. If you’d like to book Riomaggiore for your shoot, please let me know beforehand to confirm availability.
While most photoshoots take place in Manarola or Riomaggiore, you can also choose from other stunning villages in the region. If you’d like your photoshoot in a different town, here are some additional options:
✦ Corniglia (+€40) – A stunning clifftop village with picturesque streets and a small, beautiful jetty. Due to its steep location, I recommend it primarily for those staying there.
✦ Vernazza (+€50) – One of the most famous towns, featuring a beautiful marina and breathtaking hillside views. While compact, some spots require climbing stairs.
✦ Monterosso (+€50) – A more accessible option with gorgeous beaches, charming laneways, and bright blue waters.
✦ Portovenere (+€40) – A historic and scenic seaside town featuring a dramatic church on the headland and stunning waterfront views.
✦ Biassa (+€15) – A quieter, forest-surrounded village rich in history, with medieval buildings and a peaceful atmosphere.
For longer photoshoots, we can also explore multiple locations, traveling by train or even by boat (available in the Coastal Bliss package). If you’re unsure which location suits you best, feel free to reach out, and I’d be happy to offer guidance.
Lighting plays a crucial role in photography, and relatively early in the morning, you’ll still find soft, warm light that’s flattering for your photos. While the light may not have the golden, orange hue of the evening golden hour, it still provides a beautiful, gentle glow. The evening golden hour, on the other hand, offers that warm, orange light that creates a romantic and glowing atmosphere. Midday light can be stronger and harsher, but in shaded areas or on overcast days, it still works beautifully. If you’d like more details on lighting and the best times for your shoot in Cinque Terre, visit my Frequently Asked Questions page.
Cinque Terre can get quite warm and humid, especially in the summer months. With limited shade in the main areas, it can get uncomfortably hot! If you’re sensitive to the heat, it might be best to schedule your photoshoot in the morning, when temperatures are cooler, and the light is still soft and flattering. Morning shoots also offer the added benefit of avoiding the midday crowds, allowing for a more relaxed, intimate experience.
If you’re thinking of proposing in Cinque Terre, I’d love to help capture this incredible moment. Head over to my Proposals page for more details on tailored packages designed to make your proposal unforgettable.
